Republicans have an enthusiasm problem that could matter more than any individual campaign controversy. With polling suggesting only about half of Republican voters are excited about the midterms, the challenge is turning political agreement into actual participation.
Low enthusiasm doesn’t necessarily mean lost support. Some voters may be frustrated, distracted, or simply less engaged with midterm races. The challenge isn’t always changing minds. Sometimes it’s giving people a reason to act on what they already believe.
As Election Day approaches, enthusiasm deserves as much attention as candidate preference. Polling can tell us who voters support, but it can’t guarantee who will cast a ballot. In a close race, that distinction could decide everything.
